another miscellany monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters
Hello, dear friends, 'tis I. I'm finding it hard to compose my thoughts into one stream right now, so you'll have to accept a miscellany, straight from my head, no editing.

uno. My dear old Nikon Coolpix 5400 camera is on its last leg, so I finally persuaded my mom to go camera-shopping today. And it looks like I'll have a new SLR tomorrow! This is a dream come true - a new camera with manual focus, of all things. My heart is on top of the world.

dos. If I was in love with Spanish last fall when I first began to learn it, then what I'm feeling right now is closer to obsession. There's something about expressing the same thoughts with different words that intrigues me to no end. Besides, I think being bilingual is about the coolest thing possible. Anyone out there love Spanish as much as I do?

tres. I'm heading to Texas on Thursday to attend my cousin's wedding. I couldn't be more excited. A gorgeous wedding, the Alamo, the beach, lovely weather, and a new camera to enjoy - did I mention I'm on top of the world?

cuatro. Speaking of vacations, did I ever tell you that I went to Boston a month ago? Ohmygoodnessgracious, I am going to live there someday. From subways to the history around every corner... *sigh*... I left my heart in Boston. I honestly miss it. Let me dig up a few photos to share... they'll be at the end of this post.

cinco. And of course there's loads of school, which is quite fun this year, and NaNoWriMo. Yes, I'm attempting it again, this time with two of my best friends. And yes, I'm setting it in Boston. Why do you ask? I will try to post at least once a week, but if I disappear suddenly, at least you'll know where I went.

seis. Oh, right, the Boston photos. Here you go:

Photobucket
A headstone on Copp's Hill.

Photobucket
The location of the Boston Massacre, currently under construction.

Photobucket
This photo makes me happy - my first seagull caught on camera.

Photobucket
The North End, taken from the top of the Bunker Hill monument. The Old North Church is the white steeple.
Photobucket
Fairytale clouds on the way home.

siete. Well, I guess that all for now. Goodbye from your resident novelist, photographer, and Boston geek.
