...ponytails that hide messy hair. Enough said.
...red, oh so red leaves. Winter is pale, spring is soft, summer is bright, but autumn is simply vivid and brilliant. Every tree a different shade, leaves that dance along the street... I love autumn.
...packages that come just when you're least expecting them. Today it was the Adventures in Odyssey Novacom saga, my favorite, and a special gift for a friend.
...scarves. I ought to post a photo of them someday - I've amassed quite the collection. From lacy white to thick and bulky, which are your favorite?
...being homeschooled. While it might not be for everyone, it definitely is the right fit for me. When I get tired of math, I can switch in seconds to English, and most of my work happens while lying on my bed. The world is my classroom, and it's such fun.
...mothers who forcibly instill the virtue of patience in me by making me wait to get that SLR I mentioned. Sigh.
...quotes. Actually, I love quotes every day. Today I'm focusing on first lines, in preparation for NaNoWriMo next week. My favorite first lines from my favorite books:
"In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit." -The Hobbit, J.R.R. Tolkien
"It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen." -1984, George Orwell
"In the evenings my father danced." -Baby, Patricia MacLachlan
"As soon as the snow melts, I will go to Rass and fetch my mother." -Jacob Have I Loved, Katherine Paterson
"There was a boy called Eustace Clarence Scrubb, and he almost deserved it." -The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, C.S. Lewis
...bookshelves. My room is full of them, and oh, they are beautiful.
...life. Yes, I think this sums up everything pretty nicely. Today I love life. What do you love today?

I LOVE the Novacom Saga~
Another name for your lovely (girls) list: Estellina (Little star)
And I love your list of loves. :D I've been posting about gratitude lately also.
Question: Which design is this? I've seen it before and I want it for my blog. (Please reply on my blog so I can find it! Thanks.)
Lovely writings!
I love those beginning quotes! . . . Especially the first and the last. You can't beat Tolkien and Lewis. ♥ You've read Jacob Have I Loved? I read it many years ago, and because of this, the plot is somewhat blurry in my memory. My only strong emotion upon reading that book that I can recall is I thought it was kind of . . . weird in parts. :/ And you're doing Nano this year, too? How wonderful! I am also doing it. I'm extremely excited and nervous at the same time; should be a grueling 30 days. :)
Sorry for the rambling comment . . . :P
Blessings,
Elizabeth Rose
Larkin, thank you for commenting back on my blog! Yes, you did answer my question, the only problem is I don't know how to play around with HTML. Unfortunate and kind of rediculous? Yes. True? Yes. Sorry!
Good evening, darling. Sorry I haven't been around lately - I haven't really been home :)
What a beautiful list of loves! Ditto on the scarves - my collection has been growing over the years, my favorites are the ones with lots of colors that you can wear with different outfits, and warm fuzzy ones :) I actually just got a grey lacy one in DC last week - LOVE it!
Good luck with NaNo! I'm not doing this year, but I have decided try and add 1,000 words a day to a story I started over the summer and see if I can't finish it before Nov. 30. It's hard to write, since the only characters I seem to be able to write about are people who are like the people i know and love in real life. That often means putting deep personal struggles on paper - always a challenge. Someday I need to lighten up and write something silly :P Well, actually, that's what my blog is for? Right? *chuckle*
I LOVE first lines! My favorite is probably Pride and Prejudice: "It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife." That just makes me laugh everytime :)
Agreed on homeschooling - I love being able to change between subjects whenever I want! Definitely makes math easier to stomach when you throw World Geography or Lit. in between "sessions".
And I love bookshelves too. They make me feel like nothing is wrong with the world - I feel just happy when I'm a room full of books.
Well, I do have some Spanish to do before the Sabbath - need to get a head start for Monday :)
xoxo
