first. The snow is melting, and that makes me sad. Yes, it snowed a week or so ago. Lovely huge flakes, deep drifts, the clean whiteness... I adore snow. Photos:
second. My friend introduced me to Pandora, and ohmygoodness, I am never going back. Right now my Howard Shore station is playing, and I'm totally loving the Lord of the Rings-esque music.
third. Oh, I suppose you might like some Christmas-related photos. We decorated the tree with little excitement, just the sweet nostalgia of Christmases gone by. And this is the last week of school... insert major fist pump here. The holiday parties have already started, and it feels so appropriate to celebrate this time of year. Not only am I completing a satisfyingly challenging semester, but hey! God became man, and that's unfathomable. The wonder of Christmas is dawning upon me in a new way this season, so expect some more posts on that topic. Back to those photos.
fourth. Being busy is such a blessing. So often we complain about having too many things to do, but really, we should be thankful for the many opportunities we have. Sure, this week and the ones after will be some of the busiest of my life, but that's just all the more opportunities to enjoy my friends, love my family, and ponder the Great Mystery. And you really can't beat that.
fifth. As you might have noticed, I'm having a hard time being myself with you guys. Sure, I can type up a blog post about any old topic, but do my personality, my thoughts, and my beliefs shine through the words, or are they empty and lifeless? I'm going to keep that in mind from now on, and I'll do my best to give you a glimpse of who I really am. It's hard, since I haven't shared my age, name, or any photos, but sometimes I think that's even better. You don't know me for who I am on the outside, you know me by my thoughts and what I choose to write about, and I really love you for that.
sixth. About the title. It's from a relatively obscure Christmas song with strange grammar, but that song perfectly captures my thoughts about Christmas.
"I wonder as I wander out under the sky
How Jesus the Saviour did come for to die
For poor on'ry people like you and like I;
I wonder as I wander out under the sky
When Mary birthed Jesus 'twas in a cow's stall
With wise men and farmers and shepherds and all
But high from God's heaven, a star's light did fall
And the promise of ages it then did recall.
If Jesus had wanted for any wee thing
A star in the sky or a bird on the wing
Or all of God's Angels in heaven to sing
He surely could have it, 'cause he was the King
I wonder as I wander out under the sky
How Jesus the Saviour did come for to die
For poor on'ry people like you and like I;
I wonder as I wander out under the sky"

8 little note(s):
I love Pandora :) the christmas station is my favorite right now.
i agree it can be hard to get your personality across via a blog post, to people you've never met. but I think once you write enough, your personality starts to shine through. just don't think too hard about it, you know?
Beautiful post! Pandora is my favorite- I especially love the swinging Christmas station. Your tree is so pretty! The collage with the 3 pictures in it is awesome.
Is, perchance, the person who introduced you to Pandora a close friend of mine? Cause one has been raving about it lately. :) I don't have time to check it out, but it sounds cool!
i so totally loved this post. the photos, just everything. beautiful. :))

oh you're so right--being busy is a blessing, because we have things and people to be busy for. and yes, sometimes I struggle too with being "the real me." it's a process and something I keep growing into, I think.
