miscellany monday

this is going to be a simple post, mainly unedited, and lowercase, because i'm tired. forgive me.

my birthday is swiftly approaching. it cometh on saturday, and i couldn't be more excited. it's just another chance to enjoy the blessings God has given me, and prepare for the year to come.

the snow comes at night, and more often than not it's mostly gone by the same time the next day. tiny white crystals, how dearly i love you. 

i'm reading 'mockingjay', and i haven't decided what to make of this series. they're certainly engaging, but so disturbing at the same time. 

i'm participating in ann voskamp's joy dare. three things for which i am thankful each day. how they help me grasp the joy in my life and not cling to the bad. some recent items on my list: a friend's hand, holding mine; warm winter sunshine; my church community; psalm 46:10. i am determined to edit and self-publish last year's nanowrimo novel of mine. writing is difficult and tedious sometimes, but when the words spill onto the page and they sound perfect, every minute of writer's block is worth it.

may i reiterate my joy in the fact that my birthday is on saturday?!?! i am positively exuberant.
